Wall Tile System Industrialization

Criaterra — From material innovation to scalable production

Translating material innovation into a market-aligned wall tile system through design evolution, production optimization, cost refinement, and installation usability improvements.

Overview

Criaterra develops wall tile systems based on innovative low-carbon material technology.

My work focused on translating material innovation into a manufacturable and market-aligned product system — supporting feasibility validation, design evolution, production optimization, cost reduction, and installation refinement.

Feasibility & Early Product Definition

The initial phase focused on proving the product’s feasibility and translating material behavior into a functional wall tile system.

Key focus areas:

  • Translating material properties into stable product geometry

  • Evaluating structural consistency and installation compatibility

  • Supporting early product definition under material and production constraints

  • Aligning product form with architectural wall application requirements

Industrial Optimization

After feasibility validation, the focus shifted toward scalability, process efficiency, and cost reduction.

Contribution areas included:

  • Supporting production automation development

  • Participating in raw material composition adjustments

  • Aligning product geometry with production efficiency

  • Supporting cost reduction through material and process refinement

Design Evolution & Market Alignment

Installation Refinement

Field and installation experience led to dimensional and usability improvements.

Refinements included:

  • Dimensional updates to improve on-site installation efficiency

  • Geometry adjustments to simplify handling, alignment, and placement

  • Improved fit between product design and real construction workflows

Impact

  • Helped translate material innovation into a manufacturable wall tile product system

  • Supported the product’s progression from feasibility validation toward commercial application

  • Contributed to production automation, material refinement, and cost reduction

  • Helped evolve the product language toward architectural market expectations

  • Improved installation usability through dimensional and geometry refinement
